IKA MATA / RAW FISH

Ingredients

  • Fresh Fish
  • Can coconut cream
  • Red Onion
  • Capsicum
  • Lime juice and/or lemon juice
  • Fresh herbs: coriander, spring onion, parsley
  • Sesame seed oil
  • Optional: Sweet chilli sauce or chilli oil

Method

  • Dice the fresh fish into small, even-sized pieces and place into a bowl.
  • Add the finely diced red onion and capsicum to the fish.
  • Pour over lime juice and/or lemon juice, mixing gently to coat the fish.
  • Add coconut cream and stir through until well combined.
  • Mix in the fresh chopped herbs — coriander, spring onion, and parsley.
  • Drizzle a small amount of sesame seed oil over the mixture for added flavour.
  • Optional: Add sweet chilli sauce or chilli oil to taste.
  • Chill before serving to allow flavours to develop.
