Fleur's Golden Paste

Recipe for Fleur's Golden Paste as demo'd in our Mai Kai session. Golden paste is an ancient Arurvedic remedy to support health and wellbeing. It is usually served by stirring a teaspoonful into a cup of hot milk with honey to sweeten (a steam wand is perfect for making this if you have one).
1.5 cups ground turmeric powder
Heaped tbsp ground black pepper
Heaped tbsp ground ginger
Heaped tbsp ground cinnamon
Heaped tbsp ground cardamon
1 tsp cayenne
1/2 tsp salt
2.5 c water
1c coconut oil melted
Mix all dry in gradients in a saucepan.
Add water and put on medium. Heat and whisk until thick paste. Cook 2 minutes.
Add melted coconut oil and mix. Tip into clean jars and allow to cool before sealing. Store in the fridge. Fresh golden paste will keep for 2 weeks in the fridge before a slight mould may start to form on the surface. Ideally jar in 1-2 week portions and freeze the portions that are not in use.
